Lois & Clark

[20 hours. If he had gone on his own, he could have made it to Sydney in a few minutes, but just because Superman could do it didn't mean that Clark Kent could. Sure, it might be a little frustrating, but the flight gave him some time to look over his notes so it wasn't a total waste of time. Then again, stories had been coming in hot and fast, and it made for a few late nights, for himself, Lois, and everyone else at The Planet. Some sleep wouldn't hurt.]

[Sure maybe it was a breeze for the man of steel but for a woman of mere flesh and bone 20 hours felt like a life time. She'd read through sky mall and finished the article she'd brought along for work int he first three hours of the flight.

She'd been bored almost immediately and there was only so many times one could honestly be expected to watch the latest last season rom-com before wanting to gouge one's own eyes out. So what was an intrepid reporter to do? Well...sit an be bored.

At least until the turbulence started, for some odd reason while others were unsettled it rocked her like a baby in a crib. She sighed softly as her lids dropped and her head rolled to the side, thick wave of soft black hair spilling across the arm and shoulder of the man sitting next to her.]

[It wasn't that he snored, or moved, or even pushed her away that woke her. It was the awkward feeling of complete comfort around someone. Lois was used to a level of defensiveness that kept her on edge even while she rested. It was her half turn to move closer, she refused to use the word snuggle, up to Clark that had waked her so utterly.

She'd been sleeping soundly, complacently, without interruption or restraint. She never did that. Though now that she was awake she should probably ease back into a recline against her seat and leave him be. If only her body wasn't sure sure that she was entirely more comfortable like this. And after all he was dozing so he couldn't even hold it against her.

Fine, she decided. She would just let her eyes rest a little while longer. That's all, just close her eyes an relax. Of course she drifted off again, her cheek on his shoulder, crown of her head tucked under his chin and jaw.]

[The next thing Lois knew she was being gently shaken awake by a stewardess in a deep blue dress. Lois roused herself and smoothed a hand back over her hair. Another over and she wiped the sleep out of her eyes.]

Hey Smallville we're... [She turned and saw the man, still looking peacefully asleep next to her and the rumpled shoulder of his suit which had been her pillow. She smiled, just a curl at the edges of her lips and a ghost of fingertips traced across the line of his jaw. He looked so peaceful, handsome even, though she might not say that out loud. Still it was time to go, her hand move to his shoulder and she softly jogged it.]

Come on Clark, we landed.
